In Strasbourg

In Brussels and Strasbourg, the European Parliament's Audiovisual Unit offers a range of broadcasting facilities for media professionals.  TV Bookings is the point of contact for TV and video facilities.

TV Bookings
All technical TV facilities of the AV Unit can be booked in advance, through TV Bookings, by broadcast media wishing to cover EP activities.

We work on a first-come, first-served basis. Our aim is to offer as many clients as possible a high quality service adapted to their needs. Services are available free of charge and are pooled among clients, allowing us to work in a cost efficient way.

Our light camera crews consist of a camera and a sound technician who combine their professional skills with an in-depth knowledge of the personalities and the buildings of the European Parliament. We work on different formats, mainly P2, XDCAM and DVC PRO and XDCAM.

The Aurora edit suites are based on a K2 server from Thomson-Grass Valley and come with a professional editor. All today's broadcast production  formats (P2, XDCam, digital Beta, DVCam etc.) are supported by the system, which also gives access to the recordings of the day. Archive footage can easily be restored and used when editing. All news edits allow voice-over recordings.

Feeds and FTP
Your edited footage can be sent home via satellite link through our direct connection to the EBU network or by placing an encoded file on your private workspace of this website. Your page can be created simply by registering. The FTP protocol we use ensures efficient file-sharing.
It should be noted that this system of file sharing does not replace the use of a play-out via our feed point and cannot provide the same real time quality of service as a satellite connection.

Satellite connections
We do not charge for play-out facilities nor for the team used for a live transmission, the line costs however, are at the charge of the broadcaster.

Studios / live positions
Our state-of-the-art studios are equipped with real or virtual backgrounds to cater for configurations varying from 1+1 to 1+8 set-ups. Advance bookings are advisable as these facilities are very popular and need to be staffed and prepared by our highly-qualified technicians to be able to deliver the best quality to every client. A live position is available next to the Chamber for live statements and interviews at any time (these feeds and live positions can be booked at short notice).

Clients are kindly asked to contact TV Bookings to request the facilities you need.

Our facilities are operational when you need them, from early morning to late at night to cater to all the most popular European news slots. TV Bookings' office opening hours are 8:30 - 17:30 every day and 8.30-13.00 on short Fridays (8:30-19:30 during plenary sessions and when needed).

We look forward to receiving your requests!
