Background During a plenary debate MEPs on Tuesday had mixed reactions about the outcome of Friday's summit arguing that although it addressed certain issues, it fell short on growth measures and left questions open on the extent to which the EU institutions would be involved to provide accountability and transparency. The debate was also considerably dominated by the UK's position during the summit.
